Full-Time Campaigns Officer
Job Description
Animal Equality is an international organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.
A creative, agile and proactive individual with a problem-solving approach, the Campaigns Officer will be responsible for delivering Animal Equality’s life-saving campaigns on behalf of farmed animals.
Working as part of a highly effective team, within a fast-paced environment, the Campaigns Officer will coordinate our dedicated network of digital volunteers, cultivate relationships with decision-makers and members of the public, and coordinate imaginative and effective campaigns until Animal Equality’s mission becomes a reality: a world in which animals are respected and protected.
General Responsibilities
● Day-to-day execution of campaigns: Under the guidance of our Campaigns and Public Affairs Specialist, support the delivery to Animal Equality’s high-impact campaigns. Propose novel and creative campaign actions.
● Handle stakeholder management: Manage and reinforce ongoing partnerships, while forging new meaningful relationships with politicians, celebrities, academics, members of the public, and representatives within fellow animal protection organisations. Build collaborations, coalitions and alliances that strengthen our work and that enable our campaign objectives to be met. Maintain our contacts database.
● Build and strengthen our digital volunteer network: Assist with growing, managing, and galvanising our network of online activists: Animal Protectors. Produce training materials, updates and other necessary resources that inform and mobilise our supporters.
● Undertake desk-based research: Analyse and synthesise the latest research in relation to the animal agriculture industry, animal protection legislation and campaigning developments, to ensure that Animal Equality has up-to-date knowledge to guide our life-saving campaigns. Use this information to guide and achieve evidence-based outputs.
● Generate media attention: Think creatively and come up with new campaign solutions. Propose actions that are mediaworthy and garner widespread attention, enabling Animal Equality to capture the attention of change-makers and inform the public about the realities of animal farming.
● Support our digital campaigning work: Work alongside colleagues in our international Marketing and Communication Departments to engage the public through our multi-channel communication strategy. Assist with the development of content for our website, social media, YouTube and other platforms to successfully share plans and updates in relation to Animal Equality’s campaign priorities.
● Project manage effectively: Organise your time efficiently, handling a high volume of varied campaigns at any given time. Work closely with colleagues to organise events.
