We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team!

How You’ll Contribute

  • Take ownership of the industrial control panel sub-system (power distribution, data acquisition, and control electronics). Understand the existing prototype design and drive improvements to make it robust, production, and manufacturing ready.
  • Design PCBs and electrical harnesses to improve the sub-system modularity.
  • Design custom electrical/software solutions to replace OTS components with the aim to reduce cost footprint and, improve performance and manufacturability of electrical sub-systems.
  • Validate custom electronics from lab-bench testing and bring up to scaling manufacture.
  • Design the electrical interconnect system to enable modularity between sub-systems. Design electrical harnesses and PCBs with a focus on reducing cable volume, complexity and enabling sub-system modularity.
  • Automate measurements that qualify optical/mechanical/electrical sub-system performance and perform accelerated lifetime testing to prove the reliability of these sub-systems.
  • Support the operations team that maintains and runs a fleet of our instruments. Troubleshoot any issues that occur and determine the root cause, implement a process, or design improvements, and directly contribute to tool reliability and uptime.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on complex multi-disciplinary instruments.
  • Knowledge of harness component selection, EMI/Shielding strategies, communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet), and analog/digital signal processing.
  • Experience designing custom PCBs and electronics for mixed-signal processing and an understanding of design best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of harness component selection, EMI/Shielding strategies, communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet), and analog/digital signal processing.
  • Proficiency with an Electrical CAD package such as Altium, Cadence, or Eagle for PCB design.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles in PCB design is a plus.
