NEW HIGHER SALARY: $35,788 – $62,628
 
The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic/vehicle equipment repair technician II to join our Walnut Cove Equipment team.
 
In this role, you will:
    • Service, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gas/diesel-powered automotive and heavy equipment.
    • Perform mechanic work at various levels of complexity.
    • Perform skilled mechanical work including the following systems:
      • Preventive maintenance
      • Tires and tubes
      • Wheels & Rims
      • Cranking systems
      • Lighting systems
      • Cooling systems
      • Fuel systems
      • Hydraulic Systems
 
What You Bring
    • A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with N endorsement.
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing at least one of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
    • Experience performing preventive maintenance on at least one of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Diagnostics experience with basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
    • Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to perform duties of position in accordance with all safety regulations.
    • Skills to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
    • Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
    • Strength and agility to move parts and materials necessary to repair and maintain equipment.
    • Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
    • Commitment to providing a safe working environment by leading by example.
    • Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
 
Notes
    • A pre-employment drug screening is required.
    • We will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
    • Safety toe footwear will be needed.
    • When needed, we will need you to work in emergency situations and inclement weather.
    • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
 
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
