We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Harness Technician to join our team!
This opportunity is a full-time contracting position.
How You’ll Contribute
- Primarily support early-stage rapid prototyping by building wire harnesses, soldering PCB-As, and assembling electrical cabinets based on limited documentation
- Collaborate closely with the electrical design team to redline drawings and provide practical design-for-manufacturability feedback
- Secondarily support the manufacturing team on production instrument builds – fabricating and routing harnesses, performing on-the-fly rework, and providing troubleshooting support.
- Collaborate with Electrical and Manufacturing teams to document designs, execute manufacturing processes, and carefully run test procedures
- Manage the engineering supply of common electrical cabinet parts, harness/PCB components, and tools.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Hands-on experience assembling wire harnesses using electrical hand tools such as wire strippers, crimp tools, and soldering iron
- Strong working knowledge of harness components including adhesive heat shrink, expandable sleeving, shielded braid, contacts, connectors, wire gauges/types
- Ability to understand and implement designs from technical drawings and Electrical schematics
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical connection issues using a hand-held multimeter
- Familiarity with software for harnesses, PCBs and/or 3D CAD is a plus (Altium, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Familiarity with using tools such as soldering iron and hot air reflow station for PCB Components (SMT and THT) is a plus
- Understanding of best practices in IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, hands-on and independent work style, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
