SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Dental Assistant program is seeking an adjunct faculty to be the main instructor for both didactic and clinical coursework. All didactic courses will be online and asynchronous. All clinical labs will be held Monday through Thursday evenings, from 4:30pm to 9:30pm. An all-day Procedural Showcase will be held every Friday with other members of the dental team in our own on-campus clinic. Community externships will be prearranged.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments
• Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum
• Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination
• Teach productive and constructive study skills to students
• Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
• Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
• Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
• Post the class syllabus and students’ grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)
QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree
• Washington RDA and CPR for the Healthcare Provider, and annual Bloodborne pathogens training required
• 5 years related work experience
• College teaching experience preferred
• Industry certifications preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred
• Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations

Compensation & Benefits
Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. Once part-time faculty have worked 50% full-time or more for two consecutive quarters(with LWTech or combined with other community/technical colleges), Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and other insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board, State Retirement Plan and a Deferred Compensation Plan; sick leave accrues at 1 day (Prorated based on % of FTE) effective upon employment.
