We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Cloud Software Engineer within our IDEA team located in Lenexa, KS to help support our Automotive, Furniture, Elite Comfort Systems, and Adjustable Beds businesses. As a Cloud Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to assist with the launching of our cloud driven products. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing, deploying, and debugging systems as well as executing new cloud initiatives. The team you will be working with is close knit, and values people who are teachable and flexible, with a high level of detail.
So, what will you be doing as a Cloud Software Engineer?
- Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software
- Develop and organize cloud systems
- Work closely with IT security
- Offer guidance in infrastructure techniques
- Create a well-informed cloud strategy
- Document the work in detailed, easy to follow language
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience with cloud services
- Proficiency of containerization tools and understand Docker and Kubernetes
- Linux server knowledge within the realm of architecture, maintenance, and administration
- Grasp on cloud database management skills
- Strong general programming skills, along with knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, and JavaScript
- Understanding of virtual networks and general network management functions
- Knowledge to deploy and run application software on virtual machines
- Familiarity with open standards, such as XML (Extensible Markup Language), SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)
- Strong interpersonal skills (communication, teamwork, dependability)
Things we consider a plus:
- Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Familiarity with development methodologies such as TDD and BDD
