REPORTING LINES: Deputy General Manager – New Edmiston House and Head of Retail & Events

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rangers Football Club in a role that will help deliver the success of The Rangers Museum, its retail operation, and the incredibly popular Ibrox Stadium Tour experience, whilst also supporting the wider New Edmiston House team.

The Visitor Experience Supervisor will be responsible for operational elements relating to the Rangers Museum and Stadium Tours Experience, ensuring that the visitor experience remains consistently high.

Key responsibilities will include museum bookings, staff management, visitor enquiries, oversight of the Museum Shop, retail operations, and day-to-day operations.

The Visitor Experience Supervisor will work closely with the Senior Events Executive and wider events team at Rangers on elements relating to the Ibrox Tour, as well as the Rangers Heritage on the content within the Rangers Museum.

Rangers Football Club compete in the SPFL Scottish Premiership, Domestic Cup and European competitions with between 25-30 fixtures and events per season hosted at Ibrox stadium.

With the addition of New Edmiston House and The Rangers Museum, Rangers Football Club are looking to expand their offering, celebrating and building on the club’s past, whilst looking forward to the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for all operational museum and tour queries both internal & external.
  • By working with the wider New Edmiston House and Heritage teams, ensure the museum is maintained to a high standard and remains fully operational.
  • Engage with tour operators to increase the revenue, visibility, and appeal of the museum
  • Liaise with internal departments to synchronise stadium tour and museum activity with wider club and event activity.
  • With support from the heritage department, ensure that all exhibits are safe, secure, and respected at all times
  • Oversee recruitment and day-to-day booking of venue ancillary staff, (e.g. Tour guides, retail staff)
  • Act as tour guide as and when required
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to arrange private/bespoke tours
  • Support the development and modernisation of the Ibrox Stadium tour
  • Implement systems to ensure a consistently high standard of experience
  • Ensure bookings run to time.

General Information

  • Given the nature of the business, this role includes working at both weekends and evening in accordance with the fixture schedule, & events diary.
  • A developed sense of discretion & confidentiality is required.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication & staff management skills. Collaborating, supporting, and motivating others to be part of a happy and effective team.
  • Administration and familiar with Excel and MS Office packages
  • Ability to work with different ticketing platforms.
  • Experience of staff management/rota management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and focused attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexibly with own initiative and as part of a team.
  • An ability to operate and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Able to work flexible and unsocial hours including evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve
