Full-Time API Developer

Job Description

We’re seeking a API Developer for our venture backed enterprise SaaS startup. Claira is a competency analytics engine that helps organizations understand their talent and hire better. We recently closed our second round of venture capital financing and are growing quickly. This role provides critical support to the engineering, sales, and product teams.

The ideal candidate possess the following competencies:

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrates expert fluency in serverless design
  • Understands design languages, such as Material Design and Bootstrap
  • Converting the elements of web designs into executable code
  • Modifying and testing web products or software
  • Development languages: Knowledge of server-side programming languages including NodeJS
  • Database and cache: Familiarity with DBMS technology, including PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrates expert fluency in Angular, Typescript
  • Understands progressive web app concepts and the differences needed in front end development for mobile and desktop
  • Demonstrates experience in RXJS
  • Demonstrates experience with an Object-Relational Mapper
  • Identifies and resolves defects using AWS products
  • Support business team inquiries using AWS products
  • Develops front end based on mockups from Figma or another UX design tool
  • Thrives on using UX principles to produce customer oriented design
  • Presents a portfolio of 3+ websites that were produced for a client or full time job with the following requirements
  • At least one must be Angular
  • At least one must demonstrate experience with RXJS
  • All must be full ecosystem JavaScript frameworks (MVVM or MVC)
  • At least one must demonstrate an example of a microservice in a serverless environment

Work Style:

  • Works closely with developers, data scientists, and designers to achieve the best possible product
  • Proposes new tools, libraries, and packages for architecture review and acceptance based on industry standard criteria, such as public support and licensing
  • Works within established architecture and workflows
  • Reviews specifications for architectural approach and implement at the module level
  • Surgically changes code without major rewrite
  • Possesses verbal, written and listening communication skills compatible with interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences within the organization
  • Recommending trade-offs between development features such as speed, reliability, cost and functionality
  • Researching industry trends and developments in digital technologies
  • Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it
  • Organizes work using task management software to achieve goals
  • Prefers and thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced, deadline oriented, virtual startup environment
  • Demonstrates success as an Intermediate Developer in teams with professional client delivery

Additional Competencies:

  • Software Development Engineer in Test
  • Writes Unit tests
  • Integrates codelines

The most important competency is the ability to learn quickly in a fast paced startup environment. The position reports to the VP of Engineering. This position is remote, but you must be located in the United States.
