St Patrick’s is a 24 hour Supported Accommodation service for adults who have experienced homelessness. The service works with a Harm Minimisation Model supporting residents with long term substance and alcohol use issues, supporting residents to engage with outside services, such as GP, CGL (substance and alcohol support service), Oasis etc. The service is staffed 24 hours a day and Project Workers work to a rota pattern, with a mixture of early and late shifts and working every other weekend. Support Project Workers take the lead in Case Work with residents, meeting with them regularly and supporting them with appointments. We aim for residents to be at St Patrick’s for a total of 2 years, with the goal to move them on to lower support, private rental, or detox/rehab, where appropriate.

This role is wide-ranging, rewarding and includes several key responsibilities; you will complete key work within your weekly case load, providing day to day support for clients and advocating for residents in a variety of areas. You will link in with other agencies, attend meetings with professionals, record Case Notes and update Risk Assessments and Support Plans for your case load. In addition, you will report Safeguarding and support identified actions. You will also maintain the safety of the building, supported by the on-site maintenance team and security, and will be a part of maintaining Health and Safety within the service.

You will work on a four-week rota pattern, including evenings and weekends and your shift pattern will be divided into two shifts. Early shifts will be from 8.00am to 4.00pm and late shifts will be 1.00pm to 9.00pm.

We are looking for a Support Project Worker with a solid knowledge of supporting members of the homeless community and the ability to think creatively around supporting vulnerable people who can struggle with trust. You will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the culture of the service as a safe, secure, and supportive environment for vulnerable people. You will have knowledge / experience of working with people with substance and alcohol use issues and knowledge / understanding of Person-Centred working and Psychologically Informed Environments. In addition, you will have good IT skills.
