The Content and Communications Specialist supports IEEE TechEthics and Technical Activities (TA) Strategic Programs, primarily being responsible for handling high-quality communications, website maintenance, and special projects for the TechEthics Program and other assigned activities within the TA Strategic Programs group.

The Specialist determines and identifies communication needs, opportunities and requirements while also developing and distributing content in support of program goals and strategies. Will also identify needs, and establish, maintain and manage content associated with communication vehicles and tools (e-mail lists, email systems, photos, presentation, social media, newsletters, video, websites, etc.)

Content is developed independently through analysis, observation and research, in collaboration with staff and volunteer subject matter experts and as directed by leadership. The Specialist is also responsible for understanding communication requirements and meeting IEEE brand, style, tone, manner and voice guidelines. Content must meet the needs of a broad global audience – public, IEEE members, TA volunteers, IEEE volunteer leadership and IEEE staff.

Requirements:

 

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business strategy, global marketing, strategic management or a related discipline; Master’s preferred

* 4 – 7 years’ experience designing and executing large programs, particularly in the areas of leadership and professional development preferred

* Experience in corporate communications planning, including the ability to translate business goals and strategy into communications campaigns, and implement communications programs/projects

* Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, Certified Meeting Planner (CMP), or the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential preferred

* Ability to engage with high performing teams and establish and track metrics for achievement of team goals

* Technologically savvy

* Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines

* Ability to establish effective working and manage relationships with high-level volunteers, vendors and various stakeholders

* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

* Demonstrate resourcefulness in reasoning and thinking through all aspects of a problem

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally
