Full-Time Data Protection & Compliance Officer
Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Data Protection Officer, a newly-created role that will ensure new and existing processes, systems and services comply with GDPR regulations and help to drive protection conformity across the globe.
The Data Protection Officer, which will link with global stakeholders across the business and reports directly into our Global COO, will guide the global business and our employees on their obligations under data protection laws – but crucially also help us continue to grow and help our clients grow.
More about the role
- You will manage all elements of privacy across the business, conduct due diligence and risk assessments with respect to the import of personal data in accordance with the requirements of applicable law
- You will draft, review and revise data privacy and protection clauses within customer and vendor contracts as well as standalone data processing and data transfer agreements
- You will co-ordinate and carry out data-mapping exercises across departments, including documenting of processing activities, their purpose, categorising the data held
- You will develop and maintain data protection policies and procedures
- You will monitor the Company’s overall compliance with GDPR and other applicable privacy legislation and report findings to senior management
- You will implement metrics and reporting strategies that effectively communicate risks, successes, and progress of the Company’s privacy programme
- You will respond to data subject requests ensuring individuals’ rights (access, deletion, rectification, etc.) are maintained and dealt with in a timely manner and in compliance with relevant legal requirements
- You will maintain subject matter expertise in the areas of privacy and data protection laws.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have a strong data protection background with experience of GDPR compliance across multiple geographies, and will have one or more relevant industry qualifications such as PECB Certified Data Protection Officer, ISACA CDPSE or IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT.
Because of the global reach and impact of this role we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate excellent communication, both oral and written, work cross functionally, interact confidently and articulately across all levels of the business, tailoring approach where required with the ability to convey complex information in writing or through presentations, to a range of audiences.
