Set within our award-winning Staff Experience Team, the Staff Psychological Service is seeking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist.
This post presents an exciting and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic newly qualified or existing Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist, to deliver and shape the future of psychological support and interventions provided to staff across WWL. The service seeks to build upon existing mechanisms of support and as well as the development of new mechanisms; the post-holder will be expected to use their clinical knowledge and experience, as well as the emerging evidence base in this area, to shape the ongoing development of WWL’s approach to staff support. With Staff Psychology Team working across a Trust-wide basis, this is a real opportunity to obtain experience of the role Clinical Psychology can have at a strategic level and be part of a comprehensive and impactful service, serving over 6000 staff.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the Consultant and Principal Clinical Psychologists in shaping the future of the Staff Psychology Service, clinically supporting registered Counsellors and delivering psychological support and interventions to staff.
The Staff Psychological Service works with staff wellbeing mechanisms on a Trust-wide basis and applicants will receive valuable experience of systemic working and be part of change management on a large scale, including supporting the existing wellbeing service to embed a culture of wellbeing across the Trust. This is a real opportunity to obtain experience of the role Psychology can have at a strategic level, and be part of a comprehensive and impactful service, serving over 6000 staff.
The post-holder will provide consultation to those in staff support roles across the Trust and offer individual assessment, formulation and brief interventions for staff experiencing moderate to severe distress, including working closely with the Occupational Health, Staff Counselling and local community mental health teams to find appropriate support for staff who are experiencing significant distress. There will be opportunities to offer group intervention and psychologically supporting teams and departments in wellbeing culture initiatives.
Flexible working within this role, is supported and the existing team operate upon a hybrid model of working. We are keen to expand upon our existing mix of skills and specialist interests and we would fully support the development of the post-holder, to contribute to the expansion of our clinical provisions.
