Job Description
We seek an energetic, versatile, and tech savvy Project Coordinator to assist Producers in managing projects, and to help with business development and social media activities showing our work. Ideum (www.ideum.com) is a creative company which designs and builds substantive experiences and products that use emerging technology. Ideum’s multidisciplinary team includes industry professionals from a diverse set of backgrounds within the world of interactive exhibit development. We believe that interactive exhibits provide unique opportunities for storytelling and visitor interaction around meaningful topics and content.
Our company is diverse; we work with respected and influential museums, well-known brands, and technology companies. We create custom exhibits which utilize emerging technology including video walls, projection mapping, tangible interfaces, motion recognition, RFID, sensors, and other advances in computer technology. As a critical member of our team providing special attention to detail and a real passion for delivery, you will develop and deliver solutions for a variety of client projects ranging from immersive spaces, multitouch development, media production and much more.
Job Description
Project coordinators are Ideum’s junior/entry-level project managers, and they generally enter this role with 1-3 years of project management or related professional experience. Their main duties include managing smaller and medium sized projects, assisting more senior staff on large projects, business development, proposal preparation and budgeting, and working directly with clients. Coordinators may be asked to semi-independently manage larger projects on a case-by-case basis. All project managers may be asked to engage in tasks directly related to projects they are not necessarily part of, or to improving more general processes at Ideum, such as researching new productivity software, discussing business improvements, assisting in testing and evaluation new products and interactives, and creating documentation.
Effective coordinators are self-starters with a vested interest in communication and interpersonal skills who can work with our diverse staff of content specialists, designers, programmers, and engineers. It is vital that coordinators can stick to deadlines and show initiative in becoming great communicators, giving frequent updates to their teams and supervisors.
General Qualifications
We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can work with our diverse staff of content specialists, designers, programmers, and engineers. Hands-on, self-motivated individuals thrive at Ideum. The Project Coordinator we are looking for works well with others and can assist more senior Producers, but is self-motivated and sometimes works independently and manages small projects. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and researcher but can also bring creative ideas into the mix.
The position requires an individual who will take ownership of projects, see them through, and stick to deadlines.The ideal candidate will have a passion for history, science, art, culture, and new technology. We are looking for someone with a minimum of one-year of project management experience.
Requirements
Assisting other senior project management staff on projects
Running projects independently where appropriate
Developing business opportunities, assisting in proposal and budget preparation
Ability and desire to work in a team environment
Demonstrated writing, editing, and research skills
Demonstrated organizational skills
Experience with a variety of exhibit technology
Ability to stick to deadlines and be a clear communicator

Experience developing project scope documents (including but not limited to proposals, sitemaps, wireframes, functional and technical specifications, project plans, budgets)
