Full-Time IMAP Supervisor – NEW HIGHER SALARY!
Job Description
- Supervise several groups of Incident Management Assistance Patrol (IMAP) responders responding to and clearing roadway incidents.
- Develop work schedules, assign surveillance routes, provide in-house incident response training, and maintain training records.
- Operate an Incident Management Assistance Patrol vehicle and interact with emergency personnel and law enforcement at roadway incidents.
- Coordinate temporary traffic control and alternate detour routing.
- Conduct daily tailgate and monthly safety meetings.
- Evaluate roadway conditions and direct the clearance of more complex freeway incidents.
- Review, check, and compile daily reports.
- Pprepare and submit payroll data.
- Coordinate emergency and preventative maintenance for IMAP equipment.
- Participate and provide data in incidents critique during Inter-Agency Team Meetings.
- Administer purchase order contracts (i.e., uniforms, satellite facility maintenance).
- Monitor and assist with equipment utilization.
- Train incoming responders.
- Ensure an adequate inventory of IMAP-related materials and supplies are maintained.
- Knowledge of roadway maintenance operations and NCDOT workplace safety policy and practices.
- Incident Command and basic work zone safety knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills to work with the public, first responders, media, and staff to maintain a positive working relationship.
- Supervisory experience managing a staff including scheduling, tracking training, motivating, and counseling subordinates.
- Demonstrated knowledge of policies/laws related to incident management, including NCDOT’s CMS policy and Quick Clearance Law.
- A driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and make decisions under extreme pressure or in a hazardous environment.
- Working knowledge of fire safety, small hand tools, minor mechanical repairs, traffic control devices, two-way radio systems, dynamics of traffic control implementation.
- Ability to operate and maintain an IMAP truck.
- Ability to maintain basic first aid and CPR training.
- You must complete our IMAP Driving Training Program and our IMAP Supervisor Certification within 6 months of hire date (unless you already have them).
- You must complete basic first aid and CPR training.
- Safety toe shoes are required.
- You must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance while on duty.
- High School/GED Diploma, and
- 6+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
