Job Description
SUMMARY
To be responsible for all aspects of station promotion, public relations, and marketing, under the guidance of the General Manager, Director of Sales and Vice President of Programming.
Requirements:
Computer literate/MS Office Platform, good writing skills, outstanding communication skills, well organized, accurate, detail oriented and punctual. College degree in Marketing or Communications preferred but not required. Social media management, database building and management, web design and layout, some graphics capabilities would be a plus. Familiar working with vPromo, Audience, and other promotional tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute on and off-air contests
- Maintain station websites and social media platforms
- Coordinate the on-air and support-staff of an already active radio station.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly promotional calendar
- Coordinate the on-air and support-staff of an already active radio station.
- Liaison between programming and sales in the planning/execution of every event/ giveaway.
- Organize our prize inventory
- Develop local and national contacts to both increase revenue and visibility
- Develop and oversee all promotional and contest initiatives of station.
- Directly supervise employees in the Promotions Department including but not limited to hiring, training, disciplining and appraising performance of employees.
- Manage remote broadcasts/appearances, including but not limited to, hiring, and managing remote event team
- Write, create, and produce on-air promotional material.
- Supervise stations contests including originating ideas, arranging prizes and listener events.
- Maintain accurate records of contestants, and ensure contests are conducted in accordance with FCC regulations and law.
- Represent station at community events and promotions.
- Prepare affidavits for clients attesting to the announcements aired for a particular campaign.
- Coordinate all prizes and winners and make sure prizes are available for front desk distribution. Handle all release forms to insure 1099’s are in order for distribution.
- Handle all station advertising including, T.V., social media and specialty advertising.
- Coordinate with Sales Department on all station events and promotions to ensure proper and efficient monetization efforts
- Maintain appropriate relations with other media to insure maximum coverage of all station events.
- Prepare and maintain annual Marketing Plan.
- Prepare and maintain budget for Marketing/Promotions Department.
