Full-Time Executive Director
Job Description
About Democratizing Philanthropy Project
The Democratizing Philanthropy Project exists to shift power to chronically underfunded, BIPOC-led organizations working on the frontlines by helping them build long-term, reliable small donor revenue and an activist base that will respond to calls to action. Nonprofits are overly dependent on grant-based, restricted purpose income, yet candidates and larger, white-led nonprofit organizations have unlocked power from diverse, democratized revenue streams from small donors.
Social justice, frontline, BIPOC-led, power building organizations need support to access different types of capital to build durable power. The Democratizing Philanthropy Project seeks to help hundreds of these organizations access and maximize this powerful capital by working directly with them to develop the knowledge, experience, and tools they need to build a larger activist base and independent revenue streams. We support organizations new to the worlds of digital fundraising, list building, and donor conversion, taking our time to educate organizations and their staff, provide capacity building grants, and help them establish a viable small donor program.
