Part-Time PART-TIME TRANSIT OPERATOR/WORKER

Location: Oshkosh, WI
Salary: Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour.
The City of Oshkosh is searching for a Part-Time Transit Operator/Worker. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position working 10 – 29 hours per week. Work hours may be scheduled any time during the hours that City busses operate (Monday – Saturday from 6 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.) and may include split shifts as well as and holidays.
The duties of this position may include:
- Acting as an ambassador for the transit system.
- Safely operating a public bus in moderate to heavy traffic, following all safety practices and standards. Maintaining order in the vehicle. Boarding and alighting passengers at established stops, and loading and properly securing wheelchair bound passengers at established stops.
- Collecting and tallying fares, selling punch passes and issuing/ collecting transfers.
- Preparing clear and detailed written reports.
- Cleaning buses and performing light maintenance in the Transit Bus Garage.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid CDL, Class B with passenger endorsement and no air brake restriction and a clean driving record.
Additional desirable qualifications include previous experience driving buses or trucks, and previous experience working a flexible work schedule as indicated above.
