Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Operations, this position is responsible for the following:
- Supervises and participates in the modification, installations and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery which includes ensuring layout plans and manufacturer’s specifications are met and reviewing the work of lower level journey person trades workers for completeness and technical competency;
- Establishes and coordinates work schedules with others when planning and completing projects;
- Provides technical supervision to machine operators to ensure production has minimal unscheduled downtime;
- Improves production and ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment and production;
- Identifies and recommends opportunities for increased efficiencies;
- Operates lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair machinery;
- Trouble shoots electronic components, boards and programs;
- Dismantles, reassembles and aligns complex equipment regarding the fitting of bearings, gear alignment and installation of motor and belts with minimal tolerance;
- Provides daily and preventative maintenance to production lines to ensure continuous operation;
- Recommends and maintains production machinery and related equipment parts inventory and replacement parts;
- Uses a variety of tools, equipment, devices and test equipment to perform various testing;
- Liaises and communicates with others regarding project work;
- Identifies and recommends opportunities and strengths to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and production;
- Performs administrative duties including record keeping, reporting, and email communications.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- Completion of High School and Journeyperson Certificate in Industrial Mechanical/Millwright trade from a recognized education institution;
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Mechanical Millwright trade;
- Experience in food/beverage processing will be considered an asset;
- Ability to coordinate a range of related work or project activities;
- Ability to trouble shoot equipment malfunctions;
- Technical knowledge and ability to adhere to applicable codes, procedures and legislation;
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and software used to operate equipment.

Salary: CG 35 – $56,492.80 – $63,026.60 Annually
