Full-Time Vice President of Programs

Job Description

Position Overview
The Vice President of Programs reports to the President & CEO and is responsible for leading and strengthening student programs to celebrate and develop every child’s unique skills and strengths.

 

Essential Responsibilities
Program Management Oversight
• Oversee planning, budgeting, implementation and reporting for all CAP student programs.
• Supervise the Program Manager, Student Data & Evaluation Manager, Teaching Artist Fellows, teaching artists and classroom assistants.
• Lead the Program Department to effectively evaluate programs through assessment tools for students, teacher evaluations, and analysis of student and program data.
• Collaborate with school principals and site administrators to craft goals relevant to each site that will maximize CAP’s impact on children.
• Implement innovative and culturally inclusive practices to leverage children’s strengths, celebrate their creative spirits and enhance learning.
• Utilize local and national partners to provide diverse experiences for all students.
• Monitor student programs to assess markers of quality and provide support to deliver excellence in instruction and increase impact on students.
• Cultivate productive relationships with principals and site administrators.
• Provide support as needed to the Development Department in preparing grant applications and reports.
• Work with colleagues to ensure that teaching artists, fellows and classroom assistants are properly onboarded and participate in professional development opportunities as available to maintain rigor within the classroom.

Special Events
• Oversee the planning and execution of CAP’s annual Visual and Performing Arts Showcases for CAP students.
• Ensure CAP students receive opportunities to perform and/or exhibit their work through CAP’s annual showcases, school or community events, and other appropriate venues.

Other
• Serve as a member of the Leadership and Executive teams.
• Serve as co-staff liaison for the Program Committee.
• Assist with CAP’s annual Spring for the Arts, Golf Tournament and other special events.
• Champion CAP culture and model CAP’s core values to color outside the lines, sing out loud, maintain your creative spark and inspire every child’s creative spirit.

 

Minimum Requirements
• Commitment to CAP’s vision, goals and core values.
• Demonstrated experience leading and coaching staff to achieve goals.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OneDrive).
• Must pass official Level 2 background screening as outlined by Florida state law.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications
• Five or more years’ leadership experience in K-12 education.
• Experience in K-12 arts education.
• Five or more years’ experience managing department or organizational budgets.
• Superb organizational skills.

 

Compensation & Benefits
• Position is a full-time salaried exempt role with a starting salary range of $90,000 to $99,000.
• Position is eligible for annual merit increases of up to 6 percent and an annual bonus of up to 3 percent.
• Medical, dental and vision insurance available after 30 days, with CAP covering 75% of the costs of individual medical insurance.
