As a Server Support Specialist, you will install and assist with new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate, and install patches, and resolve software-related problems on servers. You will monitor the performance of systems and take appropriate proactive steps to ensure appropriate availability.
We are open to hiring remote if we find the right talent in any of these states (AL, AK, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, OR, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT).
What you will do to contribute to the company’s success
- Performs implementation of new hardware and software following written documentation.
- Provides support and general maintenance of server hardware including contacting vendors and manufacturers.
- Troubleshoots issues escalated from the NOC and other organizations within the Company.
- Patches and remediates vulnerabilities on servers.
Qualifications
- One year of related experience, preferably administering OS Platforms such as Linux or Windows.
- Associate degree in the area of Information Technology or equivalent schooling/training/experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not necessary.
- Any of the following certifications are helpful to have: Red Hat Linux, Windows, Cisco, or VMware.
- Knowledge of networking.
- Basic knowledge of scripting.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
