Full-Time Systems Analyst II

The Systems Analyst II is responsible for IT business systems analysis and requirement analysis, including conducting research and preparation of documentation to aid in the development and integration efforts across all Cable One products (Internet, video, and phone). The Systems Analyst II uses an advanced skillset and works under the guidance of the Lead Systems Analyst. The position works with business units and vendors to understand internal and external customer and/or associate needs, documents requirements, reviews criteria with all concerned stakeholders, and supports developers and testers in building, delivering, and supporting the desired software infrastructure.

What you will do to contribute to the company’s success
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders, testers, and developers to develop, refine, and communicate requirements.
- Creates detailed documentation of functional, system (non-functional), user and reporting requirements such as Use
- Cases, Logical Models, Process Flow Diagrams, Report Specifications and Data Mapping & Flow Diagrams.
- Investigates and resolves application functionality-related issues and provides troubleshooting assistance for all Operations and Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS).
- Performs business process activities and provides recommendations when assessing new software projects and initiatives to enhance or replace existing systems.
- Research technical issues and identifies modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
- Analyzes and updates data contained in corporate databases.
- Provides cost/benefit analysis to align the technology of Cable One with business strategies.
- Reviews documents created by Business Analysts, vendors, development, and quality assurance teams, such as design documents, test plans, and use case documents.
- Provides a consultative approach to front-end support teams, local offices, and other corporate teams on infrastructure and its functionality.
- Supports quality assurance and control efforts through the use of data analysis as part of pre- and post-implementation reviews for software development projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven demonstration of exemplary ability to complete the functions of a Systems Analyst I or similar position.
- Working knowledge of system design, architecture, and application programming/analysis.
- Must possess effective communication skills including the ability to express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with formal requirements of gathering and management processes.
- Must be able to identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and skillfully pose questions to draw out pertinent information.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Ability to learn details of new products, enhancements, and applications quickly.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Competency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Visio, MS Project.
