UTEC, Inc. is seeking a Buyer Analyst to work in its facility located in downtown Fort Wayne for the Control Box Division. The Control Box Division produces control boxes that are used in small, medium, and large rooftop units along with refrigeration and HVAC markets.

Objectives of this Role
- Drive identification of requirements across business units and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data.
- Serve as a thought leader for technical business processes, developing forward-thinking systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
- Create and implement precise management plans for every project, with attention to transparent communication at all levels.
- Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development.
- Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., sales, scheduling, customer service, quality, expeditors, global sourcing, finance, security, engineering, compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams.
- Identify specific business opportunities.
- Gather and analyze systems requirements on a continuing basis for potential projects.
- Assist with project management for selected projects.
- Test business processes and recommend improvements.
- Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation.
- Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems.
- Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
- Manage the supply chain for assigned commodities. The employee will also plan, analyze, procure, and expedite components utilizing accurate purchase order placement to meet sales demands, monitor and maintain acceptable inventory levels, and achieve on-time deliveries to meet our customer’s production schedules.
- Materials requirements planning (MRP) for inventory control, supplier selection, and supplier quality.
- Daily analysis review and evaluation of changing work orders by commodity.
- Access and analyze multiple systems to ensure supplier on-time delivery of 100% and the ability to use business judgment to resolve problems to get to the root cause.
- The Buyer Analyst will work closely with other departments on new product introductions, accounts payable maintenance, and supplier quality issues.
- Make significant contributions to the team by applying your own knowledge of buying/procurement functions from past experiences.
Education
BA/BS degree with 2 to 5 years experience as a buyer or procurement specialist; or
MA/MS degree with 0 to 2 years experience as a buyer or procurement specialist
Experience/Qualifications
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong inventory control skills
Ability to understand and manage the planning of materials utilizing an MRP
Expert skill with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access
Great customer service and communication skills
Must possess a strong work ethic, dedication to the company, ability to overcome challenges, and a willingness to learn new systems
Must have attention to detail, be very organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Must be a self-motivated individual and focused on results
Ability to work in a team environment and play a pivotal role in working with production lines, engineering, warehouse staff, and shipping companies to find creative solutions to meet the customer’s demand
