Job Description

Job Summary: The Marketing Manager will work with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Director of Retail and the entire executive leadership team to help develop, oversee, implement and execute strategic marketing plans for the company. The focus of this position will be both creative and analytical in nature. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for spearheading market research and informed campaigns across a variety of platforms. This position will need to ensure that all marketing materials are in line with our brand identity and core competencies. This Marketing Manager reports directly to the CSO of B&M.

Duties:

  • Build marketing programs to support specific objectives across different platforms in support of our overall strategic marketing plan within the marketing budget provided by the CSO & the Director of Retail
  • Market through various channels and segment databases working with large data sets
  • Develop business cases for marketing programs at the proposal stage and make recommendations on marketing tactics that will aid in achieving financial projection benchmarks
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on lead flow, LTV, and retention
  • Propose and manage marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team, other internal stakeholders, external agencies and vendors
  • Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration within the marketing team and leveraging internal processes
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies, and vendors
  • Maintain a close eye on all competitor marketing programs to ensure the company is competing at the highest possible level
  • Management of local and digital assets to support all retail operations as well as wholesale related programs
  • Manage the company’s Social Media channels for consistent, creative, and on-brand posts on a weekly basis (designing, posting, and/or approving 3rd party content)
  • Oversee the creation of valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts our target groups
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels pertaining to content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of all company related events such as St. Patrick’s Day, 420 etc

Qualifications:

  • Experience building complex marketing programs and ability to effectively communicate strategy and results
  • Comfort leading meetings and presentations
  • Experience with digital and direct response marketing
  • Competence as a creative copywriter
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business (or similar)
  • Experience managing content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube at a minimum
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Typography, Photoshop, and other relevant software
  • A proactive self-starter and strategic thinker with the ability to conceive, implement and execute ideas
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively work with senior management
  • Expertise in all areas of brand communication, including writing decks and recaps
  • Knowledge of social media trends and interest in testing new platforms, formats, and types of content as they emerge
  • Understanding of the Massachusetts cannabis market preferred
  • Understanding of Massachusetts cannabis marketing regulations preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain proper badging as required by the state of MA
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
