Full-Time Director Development for CMHT and Libraries

Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Director of Development works in collaboration with colleagues in University Advancement, CMHT, and the UNT Libraries to discover, qualify, engage, solicit, and steward prospects and donors for leadership annual gifts, sponsorships and major gifts in support of college/unit priorities. A top priority for this position will be discovery, qualification and engagement in order to build the prospect pipeline for both units. Ability to form productive partnerships with deans, faculty, staff and stakeholders including leadership boards and to serve as an enthusiastic and passionate Ambassador for the University and its mission is a key requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and four years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, public relations, or sales: or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Extensive knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with internal and external constituents.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop and execute strategies.
• Ability to mentor and coach colleagues or direct reports.
• Ability to manage time, personnel, financial, and physical resources effectively.
• Exceptional communications skills.
• Ability to master University policies and procedures and apply these in specific situations.
Job Duties
Conduct personal outreach attempts to discover and qualify individual prospects.
Develop and implement communication and engagement initiatives for specific target demographics to build the prospect pipeline.
Manage and implement strategies for individual prospects and donors for cultivation, engagement, solicitation and stewardship.
Identify, recruit, onboard and manage volunteers for the purpose of engagement and fundraising.
Collaborate with faculty and staff on the development and implementation of impactful fundraising opportunities.
Partner with Deans and AVP to develop and implement an annual strategic plan, including objectives. action steps, KPIs and metrics.
Participate in central Advancement initiatives and programs and university priorities as a member of Development team and ambassador of the university.
