Description
The incumbent directly and through his/her controllership organization is responsible for the management of the financial accounting and internal and external reporting of financial results for the Corporation, and assists the Corporate Controller execute their priorities. The candidate must meet the demands of being the Deputy Controller for a U.S. publicly traded company and a growing business, while delivering detailed financial reporting to internal customers and meeting regulatory requirements. This is accomplished by ensuring that: the various groups under his/her leadership are staffed with experienced, capable and motivated personnel; there are adequate internal controls over financial accounting and reporting designed to ensure reliable financial reporting; and there are adequate disclosure controls and procedures in place that ensure that all required disclosures have been made. These tasks are accomplished through a keen understanding of: the Corporation’s many businesses/products; generally accepted accounting principles; SEC rules and guidelines; FED, OCC and FDIC reporting requirements; the Corporation’s legal structure; and emerging issues/new reporting and accounting developments.
Qualifications
15+ years of total work experience, with 5-7 years of management experience, preferred. Highly specialized knowledge of and experience in specific accounting and external reporting requirements; excellent communication (verbal, written), presentation and consultative skills. Strong business and strategic perspective/focus are essential. The qualified candidate will have a B.A./B.S. in business or equivalent; M.B.A. or C.P.A. or equivalent certification (e.g., UK Chartered Accountant with demonstrated US GAAP knowledge) required.
