We are currently hiring for the position of:

 

ASSOCIATE INDUSTRY PROGRAMMER (SERIES ACCELERATOR)

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Industry Programming, the Associate Industry Programmer (Series Accelerator) will collaborate with a small programming team to deliver world class programming for Canadian creators. Working with colleagues and external partners, the position plays a vital role in planning and executing the Series Accelerator programme at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, including on-site support.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in candidate review, shortlisting and selection of Series Accelerator participants
    • Research guest speakers, and assist in the programming of Series Accelerator sessions
    • Issue formal invitations to guests and participants, and track their documentation
    • Act as liaison for external stakeholders (participants, sponsors, programme partners, and guest speakers) for the Series Accelerator programme, including confirming participation, fielding questions, scheduling, and materials collection
    • Liaise with Industry Guest Coordinator on travel and hotel bookings for participants and guest speakers
    • Assist in creating the programme schedule and itineraries for guests and participants
    • Update and maintain all relevant information for Series Accelerator programme in shared database (Artifax)
    • Contribute to talent development project book
    • Draft copy for press releases, session descriptions, and announcements
    • Be on-site for all Series Accelerator sessions
    • Assist with updating Series Accelerator programme budget and cost reports
    • Create and distribute surveys for Series Accelerator participants to submit upon completion of the programme
  • Create a detailed post-mortem and updated critical path 

 

JOB GRADE & RATE OF PAY:

  • Job Grade 2
  • $22.16 / Hourly

 

CONTRACT DATES:

  • July 4 – September 16, 2022 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Canadian or international film or television industries
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and international television landscapes with a working knowledge of trends, emerging and established creators, and key players
  • Experience working for a film festival or large scale event an asset
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent phone manner and written communication skills, as well as a knack for relationship building
  • Enthusiastic, ambitious, self-motivated, and open to working in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with extreme attention to detail, diligent record-keeping and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Enjoys fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment, with a willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and circumstances
  • Mature personal judgment, exhibiting a high level of professionalism and diplomacy, and ability to handle confidential information
  • Able to handle difficult situations and people with a positive, problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to both work independently and in a team environment
  • Additional language(s) an asset
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines, as well as during Festival
  • This position requires being in office on a regular basis, aligning with our Flexible Work from Home Policy.
