Job Summary
The Product Owner will be leading initiatives to drive transformation for a new experience for our members.
The Product Owner collaborates with the Product Manager and Journey Management teams to familiarize themselves with strategy and vision to be able to provide the necessary direction to business and IT partners as the solution is being developed.
We are seeking a strong individual to push our Customer experience to the next level. That includes working on initiatives where you are building a world-class and forward-leaning user experience, thoughtfully integrating proprietary and partnered solutions, supporting the evaluation and integration of the most important and exciting new technologies (e.g., Amazon Alexa) and features (e.g., virtual care) to increase conversion, and otherwise ensuring our customer has the most supportive, frictionless, and delightful customer experience possible.
Job Functions:
- Leads scrum teams as the Product Owner
- Provides vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create user stories
- Ensures that the team always has an adequate backlog of prior prepared work
- Plans and prioritize product feature backlog user stories for their workstreams
- Coordinates with Journey and product teams to deliver on vision, road-map and growth opportunities
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
- Leads the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years working experience as a Product Owner
- 1+ years working experience in the digital space
- Knowledgeable of Agile / SAFe process and principles
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Ability to work in an agile and iterative environment.
- Experience leading teams in a matrixed environment with reporting responsibilities to two or more different areas.
Preferred Criteria
- Business knowledge of Company specifically is preferred.
- Working knowledge of digital, website and native app.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification or Product Owner certification.
- Demonstrated success leading a matrixed team.
