POSITION SUMMARY:
Judi’s House/JAG Institute (JH/JAG) is currently looking for a warm and friendly individual with exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic. This individual will greet visitors to Judi’s House including clients, donors, volunteers, and vendors. The receptionist is responsible for answering all incoming calls, sending correspondences, entering data, maintaining databases, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings and events, upholding a tidy reception area, and related administrative responsibilities. This position is essential to welcoming our families and creating an environment of compassion.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES SOUGHT:
- Ability to demonstrate genuine compassion to grieving children and adults and maintain composure in times of stress.
- Administrative experience, preferably in a therapeutic setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general database experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, volunteers, board members, vendors, and donors in-person, on the telephone or via electronic communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with, and support, a professional team.
- Astute attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time effectively and focus despite distractions.
- Ability to sit for most of an 8-hour day performing administrative duties and data entry.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English Required.
- Ability to translate written word from English to Spanish highly desired.
- Impeccable customer relations skills with a people-first attitude.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer all incoming calls to Judi’s House in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Welcome, greet, and register visitors as they arrive throughout the day.
- Provide basic orientation to Judi’s House and our services.
- Communicate in a professional manner in person, on the phone, via video conference, and through e-mail.
- Provide administrative support to all staff and Leadership Team.
- Navigate electronic care record and document submission application.
- Database entry and maintenance.
- Maintain visitor logs, sign in sheets, and other distributions.
- Coordinate tasks for house volunteers who assist with administrative work.
- Support Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator with nourishment program, providing back up when necessary.
- Accept and track in-kind donations brought to Judi’s House.
- Provide general office support.
- Process all incoming and outgoing mail in line with policies and procedures.
- Assist with general house maintenance as outlined by Office Manager.
- Order supplies and maintain general household inventory.
- Provide care and maintenance to house plants.
- Support kitchen maintenance (e.g., preparing and monitoring coffee/tea, help with dishes)
- Assist in scheduling meetings and other events that require coordination of multiple calendars.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment including preparing the house for opening and closing.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote the values of JH/JAG throughout the organization and external relationships.
- Attend team and organizational meetings, activities, and events as required.
- Collaborate with JH/JAG Institute staff and perform job duties to advance the organization’s mission and vision.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and within a team and seek guidance as appropriate.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Commitment to JH/JAG mission.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as bend, squat, and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Judi’s House/JAG Institute (JH/JAG) is the only free-standing organization in Metro Denver devoted solely to supporting grieving youth and families through comprehensive care, research, education, and advocacy. Its mission is to help children and families grieving a death find connection and healing. Since 2002, JH/JAG has supported more than 12,000 individuals, and educated many thousands more, toward the vision that no child should be alone in grief. The integration of research and practice in a community-based center has uniquely positioned JH/JAG to create social change around the issue of childhood bereavement’elevating it as a public priority and serving as a national leader in the effort to increase access to effective grief care for bereaved children and families.
