Job Description

Liverpool FC Foundation is offering an exciting opportunity to create and deliver a world-class secondary school programme to provide life-changing opportunities for pupils across the Liverpool City Region. The programme aims to support those who are identified as `at risk` of offending behaviour and those who are `at risk` of not fulfilling their potential inside and outside of education.

What will you be doing?

The programme will be delivered within secondary schools throughout the Liverpool City Region in partnership with the schools and funded by the PLPFA. Coordinators will be the central contact for the LFC Foundation, within each secondary school, responsible for the development of all LFC Foundation`s Youth Interventions scheme-of-work which must align with the needs of the identified cohort, the school, and the National Curriculum. The provision developed will aim to enhance and create life changing opportunities for young people and their families.

The main responsibilities are:

-Deliver an educational programme that will up-skill and raise the aspiration and overall engagement of young people.
-Develop a curriculum which aligns with the objectives of the LFC Foundation, schools, and National Curriculum with input from external partners to achieve programme KPI`s and that aligns with accredited qualifications, for example Princes Trust.
-Manage and maintain relationships with school leads and work closely with them to support all identified young people.
-Develop a programme timetable which encourages and supports young people to achieve the set qualifications.
-Deliver further support to identified young people through, one-to-one mentoring sessions and engagement with family members, when required.
-Communicate with school leads to understand each individual student, behaviour, or support plans.
-Share best practice, with school and LFC Foundation staff to further enhance the curriculum delivery.
-Ensure the programme encourages development for young people focusing on mental health, positive behaviours, school attendance and education attainment.
-Adhere to LFC Foundation`s and individual schools Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
-Ensure the LFC Foundation Theory of Change and Outcome Framework is adhered to through strategic monitoring and evaluation processes.
-Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation processes are conducted accurately and effectively in line with the LFC Foundation reporting procedures.
-Ensure that continual quality assurance procedures are maintained, ensuring the programme delivery is delivered to a high standard.
-Self-evaluating each session to underpin strengths and areas for improvement within own practice and curriculum.
-Manage the risk management across each individual school to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
-Build relationships with new stakeholders throughout the Liverpool City Region, such as Merseyside Police and local community organisations.
-Support further areas of the LFC Foundation, when required.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful, you will hold a relevant Level 3 (or higher) qualification in education and teaching, alongside experience in youth work practice or youth support work. In this role you will become a positive role model for young people

You will have a level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people, and a strong understanding of good safeguarding practice when working with vulnerable young people. You will have the ability demonstrate your experiences and showcasing your knowledge of mentoring in a youth work context.

You will have the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. It`s also important to be able to identify and evaluate successes and areas for development, linked to this, experience or strong knowledge of collecting and analysing data is essential, along with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

Overall, you must have experience in working in fast paced secondary school environments, developing curriculum with the ability to implement differentiation throughout, ensuring that sessions stretch and challenge everyone.

This is a 2 year full-time fixed term contract working 35 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days, working over some weekends. This role is based in the Anfield Sports and Community Centre in Liverpool and within partner schools in the Liverpool City Region; however, the role will involve some work traveling to other locations across the region from time to time and occasionally further travel across England and Wales.
