    Job purpose

    Working closely with the participation and competition manager you will be responsible for ensuring we have a thriving network of clubs that offer an excellent member experience across all formats of the game. Responsible for regular interaction with members, volunteers, and clubs to enhance and grow wheelchair rugby for all. To be approachable, supportive, and knowledgeable about our programmes and services. You will be responsible for identifying and maximising opportunities for participation, growth, and retention in clubs and ensuring the right training and resources are in place to support clubs to do this. You will also lead on developing initiatives to recruit more volunteers to support our clubs, and supporting clubs to generate diverse commercial and fundraising streams. Finally, you will work with clubs to develop the governance and work towards full club affiliation. Your role will support our vision to be a ‘world-class sporting organisation who sets the standard in participation, elite performance, and promotion in disability sport’.

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Develop and manage an annual programme of training and development to support our clubs to recruit and train volunteers to deliver an excellent club /member experience, drive recruitment, and fundraising
    • Lead on the implementation of our Club Affiliation programme to raise standards, improve sustainability, and deliver best practice
    • Work with head of business operations and Club Officer to manage system of club affiliation reviews and feedback through governance and finance committee and board, and ongoing review of club affiliation programme
    • Development of new clubs in key areas
    • Work with head of business operations to identify any system needs to support clubs, forexample through the membership portal and website
    • Developing new partnerships to support their long-term sustainability
    • Support clubs to offer all formats of Wheelchair Rugby (3s, Paralympic version, 5s, Junior)
    • Work with clubs individually to identify and meet their development needs
    • Support clubs to access funding and resources from external organisations and parties
    • Lead on our annual clubs and members survey
    • Develop the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby volunteer network supporting our clubs andevents
    • Monitor and evaluate member data to understand growth, attrition and identify trends across different member groups
    • Reporting and evaluating of programmes for internal and external purposes including with key funders such as Sport England.
    • Actively seek out opportunities to raise the profile of the sport and generate positive news stories
    • Line management of the Youth Officer, Club Officer, and Wales Club Officer ensuring that key objectives are met
    • Manage delegated budget area
    • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level with proven ability towork with people from a range of backgrounds
