Full-Time Director of Universal Access & Inclusion
Job Description
The Director of Universal Access & Inclusion reports to the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and UDO and provides strategic leadership for addressing and coordinating services related to accessibility and advancing learning related to sustaining an equitable, inclusive, and universally accessible campus community. The Director of Universal Access & Inclusion must engage people broadly around efforts to foster a welcoming campus climate that is universally accessible and meets all legal accommodation requirements. The incumbent will ensure the university’s compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Sections 503 & 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, FEHA, and other federal and state laws regarding equal access for people with disabilities. Moreover, the incumbent must move situations concerning access beyond a compliance driven framework to a foundational feature embedded in all aspects of the university for the full inclusion of individuals with varied abilities to enable equitable opportunities for people from all backgrounds.
The Director of Universal Access & Inclusion will work in collaboration with various University units regarding compliance including, but not limited to Human Resources, Information, Resource, and Technology, Office for Equal Opportunity, Student Affairs, Facilities Management, Student Health and Counseling Services, Risk Management, and University Housing. As a member of the Division of Inclusive Excellence, the Director of Universal Access & Inclusion works collaboratively across units and broadly across campus to advance the Division of Inclusive Excellence’s mission as it pertains to integrating best practices, educational opportunities, and professional development that center disability as a part of the diversity of Sacramento State.
Pay Range: $72,000-$108,000 commensurate with education, experience, skills, and training. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, tuition reduction, and more.
