Job Description
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Controls Software Validation Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Corporate Business Unit in Columbus, IN / remote home office within the Columbus area.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Test script development and execution for MIL and SIL environments
• Create/update and publish process and engineering practice documents
• Planning and implementation of the AUTOSAR embedded software integration of internal and external software components
• Create software builds to satisfy software release targeted functionalities and requirements, to arrange and perform proper integration tests
• Debugging and analyzing software integration problems
• Debugging and analysis of issues found by above work
• Test software optimization
• Perform tool evaluations for test development (ex: ECU Test MIL/SIL) and test execution (ex: Synopsys Silver.)
• Participation in various cross-functional forums and meetings on software qualification, software development, processes & tools, functional safety, and functional excellence.
• Validation of software changes from defect reports and change requests
• Work with internal customers on prioritization of test development and execution
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
• Minimum 3 years software test experience
Preferred skills/experience:
• Strong technical writing skills
• Strong verbal communication/presentation skills
• Knowledge of MS Office tools
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification
• ISTQB Automotive Software Tester certification
• Experience with embedded C development
• Knowledge on Communication Protocols (e.g., CAN, J1939, UDS)
• Experience with National Instruments TestStand and LabVIEW
• Strong Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow skills
• Experience with AUTOSAR architecture, focused on BSW & RTE
• Experience with ASPICE software process and quality standards
• Experience with Vector tools (VectorCast, vTestStudio, vVIRTUALtarget, CANoe, CANalyzer etc.)
• Experience with Configuration Management tools such as PTC Integrity, GitLAB, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
