This is an exciting opportunity in Galesburg, MI (Kalamazoo) for a Electronic Systems Technical Specialist

Hybrid/Remote Possibility based on each candidate

This applied technology position creates software that is sold as an integral part of Cummins’ products. People in these positions will have involvement in specification, design, implementation, testing and/or release of software that controls the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
• Be part of the team that develops and releases software for medium and heavy duty automated transmissions
• Work with systems engineers to translate high level system requirements into detailed software requirements for implementation.
• Develop controls models in Matlab/Simulink to meet the desired software requirements.
• Validate your implementation using a combination of simulation tools, test benches and in-vehicle testing.
• Analyze data to identify issue root cause as well as opportunities for improvement.

Experience:
• Minimum of 2-4 years work experience in a relevant discipline. Prior exp. in a technical role is preferred.
• Experience using Matlab/Simulink for simulation and control system design (Preferred)
• Experience using Vector/CANape for data collection/analysis/calibration (Preferred)
• Experience/understanding of vehicle powertrains
• Understanding of J1939 communication protocol
• Experience using MS Office tools

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
