DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Global Export Controls Director to join our Global Trade Management team in Cummins Corporate Business Segment which is based in Columbus, Indiana. This role offers the opportunity to work from your home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and manage export controls and sanctions risks in a way that encourages development across Cummins’ business units
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to preemptively de-risk export control and sanctions issues through contract or design review
• Provide advice and direction prior to, during, and after transactions that raise export controls and sanctions concerns
• Coordinate, supervise, and participate in annual reviews of internal export control compliance policies and procedures to ensure they are current and consistent with State, BIS, DOJ, and other authorities’ compliance program guidance
• Supervise and participate in internal reviews and remediation plans regarding identified compliance-related issues, including consulting with internal stakeholders and outside counsel regarding potential disclosures
• Develop and provide training on export compliance and sanctions issues for internal stakeholders

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will execute the following:
• Directs trade compliance projects across the globe; ensures that projects are coordinated across countries and aligned with global business needs
• Communicates developments in trade legislation and risk/cost reduction opportunities to business stakeholders
• Acts as a point of escalation and resolves the most complex trade problems for the organization. Develops the strategy for their portion of the organization; provides input into the strategy for the Global Trade Management and Compliance organization
• Provides input to develop and manage the organization’s annual operating plan
• Maintains and expands strong relationships with vendors, brokers, and industry experts
• Provides expertise internally and externally as a subject matter expert
• Directs process improvement across disciplines, functions, and business units
• Recruits, selects, develops, manages, motivates, coaches, and mentors managers; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs

Education/Experience
• College, University, or equivalent degree required (MBA preferred)
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

Experience:
• Significant relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Added Experience Details:
• 7-10 years of export control compliance experience in the U.S. government or in-house with a comparable multinational company
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience, managing a team of at least 5 people
• Demonstrable understanding of export control procedures and sanctions programs, including relevant regulations

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $160,000-$200,000. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
