DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Quality Director – Operations and Infrastructure to join our Quality Management team in Cummins Corporate Business Segment which is based in Columbus, Indiana. This role is an onsite role and requires a relocation with up to 40% travel.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Alignment with Industry 4.0 (work closely with corporate ME) to deliver Quality 4.0 initiatives at different manufacturing locations
• Participate in eQMS pilot program, document the lessons learnt for future deployment and help deploy the eQMS tool across all manufacturing locations across all regions
• Advocates continuous improvement toward defect-free processes ensuring customer satisfaction and the achievement of business results
• Responsible for the assessment and improvement of the people capabilities, processes, and tools that are critical to the product development process
• Leads the quality improvement goals and objectives
• Leads and coordinates the use of a common continuous improvement project selection and priority setting process
• Plans, leads, tracks, and measures the continuous improvement progress and its effect on business results
• Leads functional teams and cross-business unit/ABO teams to drive improvements impacting key measures of the business
• Leads quality assessments and audits focused on processes critical to customer and business success
• Establishes warranty strategic direction and functional excellence.
• Leads implementation and management of Quality Software Systems. (Non-conformance PPAP, SPC, etc.)
• Leads the assessment of team members’ capabilities and skills; plans development opportunities to meet the needs of both the individual and the business.
• Organizes post-implementation exercises to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will execute the following:
• Identify, prioritize, create business case and implement the use of automation, robots and co-bots in different manufacturing locations
• Partner with Quality Analytics to identify leading indicators for future failures using methods like anomaly detection
• Partner with IQTM (Intelligent Quality Tools and Methods) department and deploy new digital methods and tools to reduce quality defects at manufacturing locations
• Visit different manufacturing locations during the deployment of the above initiatives and identify talent, coach and guide, be actively involved in succession and progression planning and help create the right level of competencies at each manufacturing locations
• Recruits, selects, develops, manages, motivates, coaches, and mentors managers; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs
• Reduce leak related failures by improving leak test technology and deployment identifying the root cause and work with relevant functions to fix the root cause
• Identifying opportunities to install DC torque guns with appropriate logic
• Improve end of line test to detect more failure modes
• Improve error proofing and fail safe by implementing appropriate vision system including 3D scan
• Improve the use and effectiveness of SPC software to improve RTY / RFT
• Champion the updated FMEA, CP, WI processes as per the new AIAG standards and roll out to all existing manufacturing facilities

Education/Experience
• College, University, or equivalent degree required (MBA/MEng preferred)
• Green Belt required (Black Belt, Master Black Belt preferred)
• ASQ Certification/Membership (preferred)

Added Experience Details:
• Extensive plant / manufacturing experience
• Experience in plant quality and/or ME and quality analytics
• Experience in industry 4.0 and quality 4.0 deployment along with use of digital tools
• Experience in managing budget including significant capital projects
• Experience in getting the work done through influence

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
