Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Industrial Engineering Manager within our Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement team to help support our Precision Hydraulic Cylinders (PHC)  business.  Over the last 45 years, PHC has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets.  If you join our team, your work will ensure customers across the world have high-quality products they can use to keep their businesses running.

As an Industrial Engineering Manager you will have the opportunity to lead a diverse group of individuals.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by determining the best way to align production equipment.  The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values assisting the Production team.

So, what will you be doing as an Industrial Engineering Manager?

• Effectively manage a multidisciplined team (Currently 11 reports including: Exempt & Nonexempt, Engineers, Technicians, Machinists, Production Support)

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role
• Skilled in project management of multiple projects at once
• A college degree in an area of Engineering (preferably Design, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial)
• A good and effective communicator
• A good problem solver
• A good understanding of basic manufacturing processes (CNC Turning/Milling, Welding, Fabrication, Painting)
• A good understanding of basic lean manufacturing principles (Elimination of waste, Continuous Improvement, Production Efficiency, JIT, etc..)
• A good understanding of basic engineering functions (Document control, Calculations, Report Writing, PLM & ERP systems, Validation Testing, Project Budgeting & CapEx Requests, Capacity Analysis, etc..)
• A good understanding of basic hydraulic systems (Cylinders, pumps, valves, etc..)
• A good understanding of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Willing to work out of the production plant in Beulaville, NC
