In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• This role will focus on the Dynamic analysis required to help Cummins Fuel Systems product line as we move into a vast array of alternative green energy technologies.
• This role will focus on dynamic analysis with a concentration in wear and friction modeling and will also have the opportunity for applied wear and friction testing to correlate analytical models.
• New technologies being developed within Fuel Systems include:
– Hydrogen Fuel Systems
– Natural Gas Fuel Systems
– Other advanced fuels and fuels from renewable resources
• Focus on system dynamics modeling and analysis and numerical computations via third party and inhouse tools to determine dynamic performance and friction and wear robustness
• Will have the opportunity to lead or manage applied experimental friction and wear testing to correlate analytical models
• Creates, manages, improves, and applies computer modeling processes, testing and measurement methods that estimate and determine dynamics and performance capability for fuel system components and systems.
• Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions and recommendations in the area of design, testing, and data analysis that impact dynamic performance of components and systems.
• Applies Principles of Dynamics and Vibration to determine motion of components and systems via numerical modeling and/or physical measurements; evaluates rigid and flexible body motion, natural frequencies, mode shapes, displacements, velocities, accelerations, friction, and wear to draw conclusions that influence design decisions with internal and external customers.
• Identifies representation of a system or system element by using suitable analytical tools and techniques to derive knowledge about the real system.
• Cultivates innovation by creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful.
