Business travel:
International events will be required, attending conferences and supporting ESI Events in different regions (Europe, NA & Asia)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
At Esports Insider we pride ourselves on running the best industry events in the business. To support the continued growth of ESI, we are looking for a results driven, commercially astute and creative Events Manager to be responsible for the continued growth, development and management for all ESI events. This role offers significant growth potential to become Head of Events upon demonstrated leadership in driving our events business forward.
The role includes full accountability for event services, event performance and event profitability, whilst also maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. From P&L oversight, to delivering unique, memorable and quality events on budget you’ll also work closely with the MD, Marketing and Sales teams to maximise revenue opportunities.
With a demonstrable track record in the business to business events industry, you should have a strong understanding of the role and value of events in supporting lead generation and sales optimisation, and what goes into creating an excellent event experience for an attendee. Your awareness, knowledge, interest in and insight of the latest event trends, technologies and innovations will be critical to success.
While focused on the events side of the business, this position will require leveraging the full ESI portfolio, including ESI Media and ESI Connect (Agency), and considering how they can be factored into ESI Events to support the overall growth of the business.

Responsibilities – Events Strategy (in conjunction with MD of ESI)
- Events positioning and strategy: Vision, target audience identification and segmentation, strategic scheduling, year on year growth strategy
- Scouting, selection and approval of venues for ESI events both in the UK and abroad
- P&L oversight across all events, ensuring delivery on both revenue and costs
- Developing the sales opportunities strategy, including the floorplan and innovative sponsorship opportunities to meet the needs of our clients, maximising the revenue potential of the event, and then tracking and milestone reporting to drive delivery of the P&L
- Defining the overall event positioning and aligning all elements of the event with that positioning – ensuring content plan, design plan, etc all support positioning
- Coordinate with marketing and media teams to ensure marketing strategy alignment with event vision
- Develop and implement end-to-end event planning and delivery templates to ensure consistency across all events for a growing portfolio
Responsibilities – Events Execution:
- Successful delivery of all ESI events, which means happy customers & partners (including sponsors, strategic & media partners, attendees), as well as suppliers
- In addition to P&L delivery, this will be assessed both via comms & feedback with these parties and via securing a strong Net Promoter Score
- Sourcing of, negotiation with and selection of suppliers (including venue relationship management)
- Supplier relationship management
- Sponsorship delivery account management
- Agenda build, including managing content flow, speakers and all event programming across live event days
- Use of CRM system and other related tools (Monday.com for project management, and more)
- Budget development and tracking of spend and key deliverables for each event
About you:
You must have:
- Event management experience, planning and running small / medium sized B2B events – conferences, briefings, networking dinners, trade shows/exhibitions etc
- In-depth supplier management experience, delivering consistently and on budget
- Experience with delegate registration management
- Proven effectiveness in contract negotiations and cost optimization from suppliers
- Solid understanding of the best and latest event technologies and tools
- Exceptional project direction and management skills, ability to manage multiple timelines, deadlines, actions in a collaborative extremely fast-paced environment
- Excellent client management experience, confident in building relationships and pitching new ideas
- Strong computer skills including office suite (Google Suite or Microsoft Office apps)
It would be wonderful if you had:
- Knowledge of and an interest in the esports and wider video games industry, as well as surrounding industries such as sports
- A rolodex of strong contacts in esports, gaming and the events industry more broadly
- Experience of CRM, Workflow and Ticketing platforms, as well as WordPress
- Experience in managing people
- A knowledge and understanding of live production and broadcast of events
- Experience in organising events outside Europe, especially Asia and the US
