Job Description

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.
• Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
• Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
• Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
• Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Skills
• Controls Engineering Knowledge – Applies the application of controls hardware and software by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.
• Equipment/Capital Procurement – Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.
• Industrial Engineering Knowledge – Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.
• Manufacturing Knowledge – Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function’s needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
• College, university, or equivalent degree required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Additional Education Desired:
• Project management certification preferred, not mandatory.
• Agile Methodology certification preferred, not mandatory.

Additional Experience Desired:
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience in manufacturing systems and business development required.
• Prior experience in Project Management field highly desirable.
• APQP and PPAP experience preferred.
• Prior leadership experience desired but not mandatory.
• Able to lead and execute the development of all the required manufacturing processes and documentation for a completely new manufacturing production line (including process flow planning, D/PFMEA’s, machine tool routings planning, work instructions).
• Project Management of multiple simultaneous engineering activities and prioritization processes required to set and meet desired deadlines.
• Position will lead and execute New Business Startup process in parallel with additional supporting project planning and execution processes.
• IATF16949 product and process management methodologies and understanding desired.
