Job Title: North American Class Coordinator
Supervisor: Programs Manager & Int’l Program Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part Time
The International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council is a non-profit organization that provides training, certification, and education benefits to wildlife rehabilitators worldwide. Our growing organization is looking for a proactive individual to manage North American classes and membership. Though this is an administrative position, a personal background in wildlife rehabilitation, animal care, or environmental issues is preferred. Read more about our organization at www.theiwrc.org.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Upkeep of classes on website and online store
- Maintain class and registrant data in database
- Engage in course outreach efforts
- Manage and engage independent contract instructors
- Organize and enact all aspects of classroom and virtual wildlife rehabilitation courses including
- recruiting hosts
- recruiting instructor/s
- arranging logistics
- communicating with instructor/s and host
- registering and communicating with students
- instructor support during lab sessions and class sessions as needed
- sending course materials and results
- Reviewing class evaluations
- Assisting in the creation of new online courses including but not limited to video recording and editing.
- Manage office email box – answer emails, file receipts
- Phone support during working hours
Required Qualifications
- Outgoing and self-motivated individual eager to promote the mission of the IWRC.
- Self-disciplined, highly organized, communicative, and detail oriented.
- Thrives in a dynamic, collaborative work environment.
- Comfortable working in a remote setting with online work management software
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities in a tactful, decisive, and resourceful manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Google Suite and ability to learn new computer programs.
- 1-year commitment minimum, ideally looking for a long-term employee to grow with the organization.
Desired Qualifications:
- 4-year college degree or AA degree specifically focused on wildlife issues, education, organizational/administrative management, or related field.
- Database proficiency (especially SalesForce)
- Paid, volunteer, or educational background in wildlife rehabilitation or related field
- Experience in administration, programming, or event management, ideally for a non-profit organization.
- Spanish or other non-english language proficiency
Working conditions:
This position is .75 FTE with potential for seasonal flexibility. The International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council’s office is located in Eugene, Oregon but we are open to hiring outside of this area for the right candidate
- Remote work environment with the possibility to spent part time in the IWRC collaborative working space when conditions permit
- No required travel at this time
- Some evening or weekend on call requirements during courses (approx 8 weekends a year)
