Temporary Summer High Adventure Director
Job Description
Girl Scouts of Utah’s Camp Cloud Rim, an overnight summer camp in Park City, is seeking a courageous, fun loving, adventure program instructor who loves climbing, teambuilding, and backpacking to be a part of the camp staff team this upcoming summer (June 9-August 12) in the Wasatch Mountains! The High Adventure Director is paid $305/week.
We are looking for someone who:
- Loves climbing, teambuilding, and backpacking
- Inspires youth to challenge themselves
- Wears a risk management hat and puts safety first (especially in the back country)
- Sees the value of a team
- Is reliable and consistent
- Wants to impact the lives of the youth we serve at Girl Scout camp
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a member of the camp Leadership Team
- Assist the Camp Director in the development, implementation, evaluation, and administration of the camp
- Write and implement program outlines and lesson plans that allow for progression of activities and accomplish specific program goals for all adventure programming
- Train camp staff to be proficient belayers using a top rope system
- Understand and implement safety guidelines and standards
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Must be least 21 years old with a clean driving record and auto insurance
- Hold or willing to obtain current Red Cross First Aid & CPR certifications or the equivalent.
- Hold or willing to obtain current Wilderness First Aid certification or the equivalent.
- Hold or willing to obtain a current Utah Food Handler’s Permit.

Camp Cloud Rim sits at an elevation of 9,200 feet near Park City, nestled among aspen and pine on the shores of Lake Brimhall. Camp Cloud Rim has beautiful facilities including a lodge and shower house, electricity, hot water, and flush toilets. Girls live in cabins or platform tents with staff located nearby. A highlight of Camp Cloud Rim is beautiful Lake Brimhall where campers can canoe, sail, kayak, and swim. Other activities include pottery, rock climbing, hiking and backpacking.
