The Role:
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving the positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation of the Voltaiq product line. You’ll work closely with the Sales team, enabling them to efficiently generate and close new opportunities. You will also work closely with the Product Management and Applications Engineering teams to develop a deep understanding of Voltaiq product functionality and how it delivers value to customers.
This is a uniquely important and challenging role at Voltaiq, and we are open to a range of past experience including a battery engineer/scientist with stellar communication skills who wants to transition into marketing; a technical expert in a related field, similarly qualified and looking to make a similar transition; or someone with experience marketing technology software products in one or more of the following fields: R&D, manufacturing, hardware, physical sciences, life sciences, or related.
Our winning candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously and driving them to timely completion, marshaling both internal and external knowledge and resources to do so. Communication skills and attention to detail are vital, as you will be writing, proofreading, and editing marketing copy and related materials (brochures, datasheets, blog posts, web content) and delivering presentations to customers, media, and industry analysts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop product marketing content and collateral including (but not limited to) sales brochures, datasheets, case studies, whitepapers, slide presentations, documentation, blog posts, and web content
- Work closely with the Sales team to understand their needs, and deliver product marketing content that enables the sales process
- Work closely with the Product Management and Applications Engineering teams to develop a detailed understanding of customer challenges and how Voltaiq addresses them
- Keep abreast of the product roadmap, and develop marketing materials for products and functionality in the development pipeline (pre-launch)
- Manage a small group of external vendors as required for delivery of marketing content
- Create product content that educates and inspires
- Shape and consistently refresh our sales playbook (e.g., sales enablement and sales training content)
- Own the product and customer content within our website and work closely with our internal product team, and external design agency to keep it compelling and current
- Lead calls with prominent industry analysts and press
- Up to 25% travel to customer sites and tradeshows (global health restrictions dependent)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of directly relevant experience that may include: battery science or engineering work, technical work in a related field, OR professional product marketing experience for technical software products
- Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills
- Superior writing skills, with the ability to express ideas succinctly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to edit written copy and graphical content with an eye for detail and quality
- Ability to translate technology features into business benefits
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams
- Desire and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-demand, fast-growing company environment
- Undergraduate or graduate technical degree with a materials, electrical, mechanical, or electrochemical focus is a plus, but not a requirement
- Native speaker ability or high business fluency in one of the following languages is a plus: German, French, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese
- A passion for working to accelerate the global transition to clean energy
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
