Engineer II – Facilities Maintenance
Job Description
- Lead project management/construction administration for projects designed by private/outside consultants.
- Manage the consultant acquisition process, all project design phases, and oversee construction administration.
- Ensure designs comply with NC Construction Office protocols, procedures, and guidelines, NC Building Codes, and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee our GIS and building database systems.
- Assist with the development of capital improvement budget preparation and asset inventory management.
- Frequently travel to active construction projects across North Carolina.
- Experience monitoring and ensuring construction projects meet specification/design standards.
- Skilled expertise in determining program/project priorities, processes, and procedures.
- Experience managing projects for completeness, compatibility, and compliance with engineering principles/design needs/standards.
- Ability to resolve/approve major project/program changes.
- Demonstrated ability to approve program/project budgets, schedules, design phases, change orders, and requests for payments.
- Consultative skills to regularly collaborate with senior decision-makers.
- We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
- Bachelors Degree in engineering, and
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
