Full-Time Credit Representative

Job Description

Position Purpose:

Effectively and professionally communicate with customers, agencies and co-workers, over the phone, web and by mail in accordance with department standards and goals to ensure the Company satisfactorily meets their goals. Ensure that customers are consistently provided with prompt, accurate and courteous service. Communicate effectively with others within the department and cross functional areas in order to foster a positive working environment. Assist and contribute to improved processes, in order to efficiently and accurately respond to customers and client companies. Successfully resolve directly or coordinate the resolution of routine customer issues and complaints in a timely manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

Consistently provide prompt, courteous and professional service to all internal and external customers so a pleasant call experience and a one-call resolution are established. Ensure that all information provided to internal and external customers is accurate and complete. Utilize collection techniques when communicating with customers in a delinquent situation, so the maximum delinquent amounts are collected. Ensure all communication with customers is delivered professionally, and all customers are treated with respect.

Effectively and accurately acknowledge customer inquiries through the work order system concerning credit disconnect situations, such as processing fuel assistance, protections, new services, bill complaints, high energy use, payment programs, payment options, deposit requirements, general service work, and other customer inquiries to ensure customers receive a one-call resolution to their situation.

Complete daily scheduled projects, including but not limited to CGI’s, customer correspondence, payment plan requests, voice message mailbox, and work relating to transferring customer balances.

Assist with some training of entry level representatives, as requested.

Contact customers that are on the daily delinquency lists. Promptly and professionally provide these customers with information pertaining to assistance programs, payment options and payment arrangement information, in order to successfully provide the customer with the opportunity to avoid a disconnection of their service.

Respond to unforeseen situations and undertakes and completes assignments and special projects as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma.
  • 1 year experience in providing telephone customer service in a call center environment.
  • Possess solid keyboarding and PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility.
  • Must accept alternate shift coverage as required.
  • Have a high energy level and the ability to handle multiple tasks quickly, a pleasant telephone voice, ability to respond to all inquiries in a professional, respectful manner and the patience and ability to deal with irate customers.
  • Also possess contagious enthusiasm and demonstrate the ability to solve problems.
