Job Summary
Our team is currently looking for a Court Assistant, Senior to join a dynamic group of four to ten team members working in a Court Assistant classification. This position will perform advanced and specialized administrative work for the assigned department and may act in capacity of a lead member of staff.
Qualifications
This position is distinguished from the lower levels of Court Assistant classifications by serving as a technical specialist performing advanced level work which requires specialized knowledge of the department.
As a Court Assistant, Senior, your primary responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct formal training for new employees and offer ongoing support to your teammates;
- Provide information and advice to the public, co-workers, and outside agencies concerning department information and specialized subject matter expertise;
- Make recommendations for the development, revision, and implementation of procedures and processes, maximizing our efficiency and accuracy;
- Participate in daily team assignments in support of Court’s operations;
- Actively advance District Court’s mission and vision by promoting the culture of learning, innovation, inclusion, and respect.
Qualifications:
Post-high school education in business administration, criminal justice, social sciences or closely related field of study is highly desirable.
Three to five years of responsible and advanced administrative support experience, including the full range of legal court processes and office support functions, with at least two years of specialized expertise in the area of assignment. Prior experience in leading others is preferred.

– an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff, as well as the general public served by the department;
– a compassionate leadership style and effective communication skills;
– advanced technological skills in computer programs and applications;
– demonstrated ability to make independent judgments when situations that demand action outside the scope of established procedures or policies arise.

Salary Grade: Local 11.507 ($22.37 – $28.61) per hour
