Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Unit in Jamestown, NY.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

 

-Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

 

-Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

 

-Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

 

-Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

 

-Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

 

-Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

 

-Problem Solving – Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

 

-Equipment/Capital Procurement – Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs

 

-Communicates effectively – Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

 

-Controls Engineering Knowledge – Applies the application of controls hardware and software by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.

 

-Drives results – Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances

 

-Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
