The Opportunity: Logistics Project Manager | North America Regional Operating Team – Transportation
As part of the Cummins Integrated Logistics Team, this role will be a key member of the Transportation Operations team, specifically focused on leading network optimization initiatives for manufacturing sites in Minneapolis (Fridley), Minnesota, Seymour and Columbus, Indiana and Charleston, South Carolina. This Logistics Project Management role will take the lead in developing value added initiatives from concept to implementation based on data analysis and cross functional input.
We are looking for someone who can be hands on, while also seeing the big picture. Someone who works well across teams as well as with external suppliers and partners such as our transportation 3PL. This is a great role to help build a broader view of the end to end supply chain and the impacts of handoffs between functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline.
• Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.
• Monitors and communicates project status to project team.
• Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
• Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions.
• Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
• Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.
• Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Skills and Qualifications:
• Demonstrated role competence is required. Prior engagement with Transportation and Logistics experience a plus.
• College, University with equivalent Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field required
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required
• Experience in driving simplicity through value added process improvement required
• Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
• Leading through ambiguity and uncertainty
• Experience participating in change management initiatives, engaging, collaborating with internal and external team members
• Proactive and accountable work ethic
• Ability to work with remote autonomy and limited oversight
• Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
• Experience in leveraging Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI tools) to identify and create data narratives

Location is US based, remote.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
