YMCA DownsLink Group are currently recruiting for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our inspire team and help deliver the MTAR Programme – coordinating volunteer programmes under the MTAR programme in Guildford Foyer. You will work closely with Volunteer Coordinators in Sussex and the Inspire Manager as well as the Inspire coach and the housing team in Guildford Foyer. 

You will recruit, onboard, train and support volunteers to provide and support a range of activities in our housing projects, and localities, ensuring that volunteers have a positive experience with YMCA DLG and provide a professional service in their roles.

Person Specification 

We would be particularly interested in candidates with experience of supporting young unaccompanied refugees and asylum seekers; an understanding and willingness to learn about the issues faced by these young people. 

A people person, who understands how to motivate, inspire and coordinate a team of volunteers. Excellent people and communication skills. 

Key Requirements 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of young and/or vulnerable people living in supported housing. 
  • Experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers and working with young and/or vulnerable people 
  • Able to work weekends and evenings as required
