This is an exciting opportunity in Galesburg, MI for a Materials Manager.
The Material Manager ensures linkage between the purchasing function and manufacturing facilities. Responsible for continuity of supply by serving as a communications conduit between suppliers and manufacturing.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Short-term and long-term capacity management:
• Monitor and assess current, short-term and long-term capacity constraints
• Maintain close relationship with global Sales, Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to maintain firm grasp on demand inputs by region
• Maintain a capacity management tool to keep constraints visible and drive appropriate actions
• Partner with internal partners and suppliers to develop strategies to relieve constraints

Daily Supply Chain Execution:
• Develop daily operating system to ensure parts availability to meet global demand and build plans
• Raise constraints and execute mitigation plans immediately in response to any potential shortages
• Manage suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are being met
• Communicate implementation of engineering changes impacting supply chain continuity to avoid disruption
• Review and approve/reject expedited freight as needed – collaborate with suppliers to mitigate future needs for expedited freight

Maintains Supplier Relationships:
• Routine touch points with high priority vendors to monitor performance, address issues and inform of demand changes when needed
• Address supply chain failures swiftly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate
• Partner with Category Managers to deliver supplier performance reviews

Supplier Performance Management:
• Partner with appropriate resources to issue long-term agreements and ensure they are updated as required and stored in accessible location.
• Develop measurement system to assess supplier performance vs. long-term agreements
• Develop measurement system to ensure YOY productivity is occurring as contractually expected.

Premium Freight:
• Develop measurement system to monitor premium freight spend, identify outstanding issues and swiftly address with vendors
• Ensure premium freight ownership and accountability is clearly stated into all long-term agreements
• Monitor performance of each supplier and assess vs. premium freight agreement in long-term agreements
• Responsible for AOP planning and performance vs. target

Inventory Management:
• Partner with local supply chain teams at manufacturing locations to develop and execute upon inventory strategies
• Accountable to maintain a strategic inventory profile at ECJV manufacturing locations and strategic supplier locations

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in a related business field such as supply chain management
• 7-10+ years of relevant work experience required
• Prior experience may encompass: Inventory management, supply chain management, supplier negotiations, supplier relationship management, global experience, etc.
