We are looking for a talented experimental engineering manager to join our team specializing in vibration, strain, acoustics, fatigue testing for our Power Systems Business in Fridley, Minnesota.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Developing technical leadership and delivering technical talent in a research, technology or product development environment.
• Providing problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact; helps get teams in place.
• Leading the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.
• Create, manage, improve and apply effective work processes involving activities such as resource allocation and management, organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management and knowledge management; all used for the purposes of enabling high quality decision making that meets business expectations.
• Coach and mentor employees to provide guidance and direction on resolving problems, technical know-how, removing barriers to progress and career path planning. Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
• Decisions made in this role may include resource deployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, personnel staffing, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management, the result of which can impact project cost and delivery within a site or across several sites within a business unit.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Prior Technical Specialist or Technical/Engineering Management (5+ years) equivalent work experience in a leadership role, ideally with experience in vibration, strain, acoustics, and fatigue testing.
• Demonstrated success leading projects and influencing outcomes through either direct or indirect reporting relationships.
• Must have a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making, providing technical direction and leadership to a project team(s) and conflict resolution.
• System Requirements Engineering – Uses appropriate methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed; establishes acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation and negotiation; tracks the status of requirements throughout the system lifecycle; assesses the impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources; creates and maintains information linkages to related artifacts.
• System Capability Engineering – Identifies system capability and risks through analysis or experimental testing of the system, sub-system, or super system in the context of its environment; negotiates and verifies requirements against capability to guide project scope and system development accordingly; assesses legacy system versus proposed new system solution capabilities and makes decisions as to how best to achieve system capability with consideration of stakeholder trade-offs.
• Product Development Execution, Monitoring and Control – Plans, schedules, coordinates and executes the activities involved in developing a product to a respectively aligned hierarchy of requirements and technical profiles; monitors and communicates across functional boundaries to meet project resource and quality expectations; ensures product capability meets or exceeds expectations and takes mitigating actions when project risks are higher than expected; understands the full product life cycle process and stakeholders.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• Master’s degree or PhD in either experimental or analytically methods preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
